Join Chris Walker and Gerry Hassan as they delve into the highlights of the upcoming Kirkcudbright Fringe 2024. Celebrating its second year, the festival promises to be bigger and better, with a variety of performances, exhibitions, and events that cater to all tastes.
Starting on Thursday, September 5th, with a special performance by the National Theatre of Scotland, the festival will feature a tribute to the legendary June Carter Cash. The event will continue with a diverse lineup, including classical music by the Scottish Ensemble and a photographic exhibition by Dylan Lombard, honoring the late Pauline Saul.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy a range of activities, from environmental discussions and historical talks to comedy shows and live music. Highlights include an audience with acclaimed author James Robertson, a comedic magic show by Brandon Barrett, and a lively Elvis tribute concert by Mike McAlpine.
Sunday will feature engaging sessions on nature writing, the history of women's football, and the future of art and culture in Dumfries and Galloway. The festival will conclude with a spirited Ceilidh by the pupils of Kirkcudbright Academy.
